Sometimes even when we're quite handy and are a bit of DIYers, we need help. When your check engine light comes on, it's best to take your ride into your car's specialist. They have the room and equipment to deal with this sort of thing. A lot of times you can get a free estimate, too. Not to mention piece of mind. The good news is that most of the time when your check engine light comes on, it doesn't necessarily mean that your engine is about to blow. It could be as simple as your gas cap being loose. Or a spark plug wire that wants to be a pain. Other times it most likely will have something to do with your catalytic converter, O2 sensor, or mass air flow sensor. Whatever it is, though, it does need to be addressed ASAP to avoid further damage to your ride.
